GYMKHANA REPORT (2010-2011)

The Gymkhana is a place where every student of the College comes to enjoy, relax,
play, etc. It is a place where healthy competition is encouraged between students.
The academic year 2010 – 2011 was full of activities for the Gymkhana of Raheja
College. All year around the College Gymkhana was engaged with Boys and Girls playing
Athletic games, Table Tennis, Carrom, Badminton, Chess, Basket Ball, Volley Ball,
Cricket, Football etc, with great enthusiasm.
Throughout the year, many activities were held like Inter Collegiate Tournaments
which included:
- An Inter Collegiate Football Tournament was held by the University of Mumbai. Our
College team took part as well.
- An Inter Collegiate Kabaddi Tournament was held by the University of Mumbai. Our
College team also participated.
- An Inter Collegiate Cricket Tournament was held by the University of Mumbai. Our
College team took part and won 3 Test Matches.
- An Inter Collegiate Volley Ball Tournament was held by the University of Mumbai.
Our College team took part and won 2 matches.
- An Inter Collegiate Badminton (Both Girls & Boys) Tournament was held by the
University of Mumbai. Our College team took part as well.
- An Inter Collegiate Athletic Tournament was held by the University of Mumbai. Our
College took part. Apart from the Inter Collegiate Tournaments various other activities
were held like Inter Class Tournaments which included:
- Interclass Table Tennis, Carrom, Basket Ball, Badminton, Volley Ball, Chess and
Cricket Competition, where lots of students participated with great enthusiasm and
spirit.
The Annual Sports Programme of the Degree College, Junior college and the Self Financing
Courses was held on 20th December, 2010, where various competitions were held like
the Marathon Race, Relay Race, 100 Meter Race, 200 Meter Race, Short Put,Disc Throw,
Tug – off- War etc. were held.
The Main attraction at the Annual Sports Day was the ‘Box Cricket Match’, where
lots of students took part with great enthusiasm and spirit.
The Prof. In-charge was “Mr. Devnani Gordhan” and “Miss. Farha Sayed” of T.Y.B.Com
was the student In-charge. “Mr. Pandhari Pachundkar” of the
non-teaching staff was the Gymkhana assistant for the year 2010 -2011 who helped
out a lot in all the Gymkhana activities.
Thus, the year 2010-2011 was filled with numerous Gymkhana activities which brought
us some success and some disappointments as well...
