DEGREE COLLEGE STUDENT COUNCIL
REPORT FOR THE YEAR 2010-2011
Students’ council is an organization which helps students to develop their personality
and leadership qualities and to find new and various talents among
students.
The Professor-in-charge of students’ council is Mr. Mahesh Sathe along with Mr.
Hrishikesh Wandrekar and Dr. Satish Naringrekar. On 21st July, 2010 the students’
council 2010-2011 was formed, the selection of General Secretary, Cultural Secretary,
Ladies Representatives’ and University Representatives was done through voting.
Saima Pathan (T.Y.B.Com - ‘C’) was selected as General Secretary, Abul-Hasan Bhati
(T.Y.B.Com- ‘C’) was selected as Cultural Secretary, Gauri Kudva
(T.Y.B.Com – ‘B’) and Anjali Mishra (T.Y.B.A) were selected as Ladie's Representatives,
and Bhavik Parikh (T.Y.B.Com – ‘B’) was selected as University Representative.
In the month of July, students’ council organized 4 events. Following are the events
organized in the in the month of July: -
1. 28th July, 2010 - Guru Purnima.
2. 29th July, 2010 - Chocolate Day.
3. 30th July, 2010 - Green Day.
4. 31st July, 2010 - Singing Competition (Meri Aawaz
Suno).
On 31st July, 2010 a singing competition was organized, it was a tribute to a great
singer “Late. Mohd. Rafi”. Students enthusiastically participated in the competition
and made the event successful. The council members were also very supportive.
To find out new talents in singing and dancing and to find new leaders from the
college and for student’s enjoyment, the students’ council organized following events
in the month of August, 2010: -
1. 02nd August, 2010 - Friendship Day with D.J. Party.
2. 14th August, 2010 - Solo & Duet Dance Competition.
3. 15th August, 2010 - Independence Day.
4. 16th August, 2010 - Essay Writing Competition.
5. 17th August, 2010 - Extempore Competition.
6. 18th August, 2010 - Group Discussion.
7. 19th August, 2010 - General Knowledge Quiz Competition.
8. 20th August, 2010 - Antakshiri Competition.
To facilitate and thank teachers,the student's council organized Teachers Day
on 5th September, 2010 where they entertained the teachers and showed their love
for them. With this, all well organized and successful events of the first term
got over and with the start of the second term the students’ council came enthusiastically
with new ideas to organize the fest of the college, “UNMESH” The Fun Arises…….2010.
This fest was organized in the month of December, 2010.
The following events were organized in this fest: -
1. 04th December, 2010 - Talent Day.
2. 16th December, 2010 - Traditional Day, Pooja,
Traditional Dress & Food Competition, Nasik Dhol.
3. 18th December, 2010 - Fun-N-Fair (D.J), Face Painting, Poster Making Competition.
4. 20th December, 2010 - Grand Rehearsal
5. 21st December, 2010 - Annual Day.
6. 22nd December, 2010 - Personality Contest, Rose Day, Tie & Saree Day.
7. 23rd December, 2010 - Art Gallery, Rangoli & Mehndi Competition, Duet Comedy
& Mono Acting Competition, Prom Night.
All the events in this fest were well organized. The motive to organize this fest
was to develop leadership qualities, to encourage students to build their confidence,
to find the talent in various fields like fine arts, performing arts etc. and most
important Mr. & Miss. Raheja of 2010-2011. Besides this, for the enjoyment of
students Nasik Dhol and D.J. Parties was also organized.
Sudents’ council organized a “RESOLUTION WEEK” in the month of January, 2011. The
“RESOLUTION WEEK” was the third week of the New Year, from 17th January, 2011 to
22nd January, 2011. The resolution for this week was not to “waste electricity”,
"keep our surroundings clean” etc; then on 26th January, 2011 Republic Day
was celebrated.
In the month of February, 2011 one special event was organized for poets – “Mehfil-E-Shayari”
on 4th February, 2011 where not only students but also teachers took part in reciting
poems, even self-written poems.
To say bye to the students of third year “A Farewell Party” was organized by the
students’ council for the students of T.Y.B.Com & T.Y.B.A. with a D.J Party
and dinner on 15th February, 2011 to send them off.
All the events were well organized and all the students’ council members took active
part in the organizing, to make the events and programs successful. There was a
good response from students and teachers as participants and even members of students’
council also participated in all the events. All the events were conducted smoothly
with help of all the council members, the staff members, the supporting staff and
of-course the pillar of our college

JUNIOR COLLEGE STUDENT COUNCIL REPORT FOR 2010-11
L.S. Raheja’s Student Council constantly endeavors to bridge the gap between students
and teachers, enabling them to learn from each other and giving
them an opportunity to grow together. A firm believer of all round development of
students, the council strives, each year, to better itself and provide
innumerable possibilities to the varied pool of talent that the college houses.
The Junior College Student Council for 2010-11 was co-headed by Mrs. Sunita Gupta
and Ms. Meena Patil. After a grueling selection process, approximately 30 students
were selected to represent and organize the various events to be conducted in the
following year.
The repertoire of events included.
1.
Green Day : This event aimed to teach
the students the importance of eco-friendliness by encouraging them to plant trees.
The college was decorated with “greenery” as the theme and 4 students from
each class were awarded the best “Green - dressed prize”.
2.
Let loose in Lonavala ! : All work and
no play does makes Jack a dull boy ! Paying heed to this wise saying, a trip was
organized to Lonavala ( a
hill station) where students enjoyed themselves thoroughly at the overflowing Bushi
Dam and also visited many neighboring tourist viewpoints.
3.
Friendship Day with a DJ Party : Radiant
red, yellow and pink bands dominated the colours of friendship on this day as students
celebrated their bonds by dancing together and vowing to remain friends forever.
4.
Independence Day (Patriotic Songs competition)
: In order to pay respect to our great freedom fighters, a patriotic song competition
was held in association with the Hindi Yuva Manch.
5.
Teacher’s Day : A teacher’s contribution
to a student’s life is priceless. To honour and entertain these personalities, an
event full of games such
as Antakshari, Treasure Hunt etc. & meals etc were especially organized.
6.
Save Animal Day : Inspired by the ‘Save
Animal Week’ being propagated in the country, students raised awareness about animal
rights through plays, songs and general knowledge puzzles.
7.
Raheja Week : Christened
‘Udaan... The flight of Masti,’ this week - long festival included the
following activities:
-Talent Contest - solo,; duet and group dances, fashion shows, plays, instrumental
music, solo and duet singing etc.
- Food Festival - different varieties of food stuffs such as Dahiwadas, Chole Samosas,
Dosas, Corn Pattice and Falooda were available as part of a contest.
- Socials - An evening full of fun and frolic with a DJ to set the mood.
- Competitions such as T-Shirt painting, Tattoo making, Bridal make-up etc. were
held.
- Fun n Fair - Based on a carnival theme, the quadrangle was set up with stalls
of games, eatables etc. to entertain students.
- Personality Contest - An annual Raheja event along with Tie-n-Saree day to adjudge
Mr. and Ms. Raheja 2010.
- Annual Day - Held in Andrew’s College auditorium, it was the perfect showcase
of talent that L.S. Raheja boasts of. The entire college including the non-teaching
staff enjoyed themselves thoroughly on this day.

Student Farewell Party with Prize Distribution ceremony
: This evening was held to commemorate the students passing out of Junior college
and also, to recognize the extraordinary efforts of students throughout the year.
The evening ended with a DJ celebration and meals for all. All in all, the goals
that the Junior College Student's Council had set for itself, namely to teach
students responsibility and to bring out the creative genius in them, were achieved.
This year was heralded by a group of extremely hard working students who truly personified
the true character that L.S. Raheja stands for.
ANNUAL DAY REPORT ACADEMIC YEAR 2010-11
The Annual Day of L.S Raheja College was held on 21st December 2010 at the St. Andrews
Auditorium, Bandra. The function started with a pooja of Lord Ganesha. Over the
next 4 hours, the talent of the college was displayed in its splendour, through
various dances, singing, drama and fashion shows.
The students volunteers from the Students Council and NSS were instrumental
in organizing this wonderful programme. The entire teaching and non-teaching staff
contributed to the Annual Day festivities through various committees.
Mrs. Kurve and Mr. Sathe also enthralled the crowd with some foot tapping numbers.
The various committees also had the pleasant task of selecting the best talent in
the college. The best performances of the Annual Day were as under
