CA Mahesh Shriram Sathe

Vice Principal, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Accountancy at L. S. Raheja College of Arts & Commerce. He is M. Com., F.C.A. He is a practicing Chartered Accountant since 1984. He is teaching in Degree College since 1984. He joined L. S. Raheja College of Arts & Commerce in 1998. He has thirty-three years of practicing and teaching experience. He  runs  his  accounting, auditing and  tax  consultation  practice  under  the  name  of M/s  M. S. Sathe  & Co., Chartered  Accountants.

He has written a book on “Auditing” for T.Y.B.Com. students  which  is  published  by  M/s  Reliable  Publications, Mumbai. This book has got ISBN 978-81-923640-6-3. He is recognized by University of Mumbai as a post-graduate teacher in the subject of Accountancy. He has worked as an examiner, moderator and paper-setter for Mumbai University in the past.

He has read research papers in 10 International Level and 4 National Level Seminars and his papers are published in Research Books and Research Journals with ISBN and ISSN.

His research paper titled “Value Based Education in Income-tax and Accountancy” was selected as the Best Paper at the International Seminar organized by Khandwala College in association with IGNOU and University of Mumbai on 28th and 29th January 2011.

His research paper titled “Study of the Growth of Housing Finance and Profit of Dewan Housing Finance Corporation Ltd.” was selected as the Best Paper at the International Conference organized by DTSS College of Commerce jointly with University of Mumbai on 20th February 2015.

Received Outstanding Research Paper Award for research paper titled “Corporate Governance – A Case Study of HDFC Bank Ltd.” from Department of Commerce, University of Mumbai at 13th International Commerce and Management Conference on “New Paradigms in Restructuring of Business management Strategies in Finance, Marketing HR and IT in Global Scenario” organized by the University Department of Commerce, University of Mumbai on 14.01.2016 and 15.01.2016 at Mumbai.

He is invited as a guest speaker for giving Guidance Lectures to T.Y.B.Com. Students in the subject of Management Accounting and Auditing by nearly 20 colleges of Mumbai.

He has worked as Chairperson of Examination Committee, Students’ Council, Unfair Means Enquiry Committee, N.S.S., Gymkhana Committee, Annual Day Committee and worked as a member of Time Table Committee, Admissions Committee, Purchase Committee.

He has done 3 Refresher Courses and 1 Orientation Course and secured “A” grade in all the courses. He has also done 2 Short-term Courses.

He was instrumental in starting Felicitation of meritorious students on Teachers’ Day. He started Guru Pournima, singing competitions on 31st July “Meri Aawaj Suno”, college festival “Unmesh”, poetry recital programme “Tu Shayar Hai”, Felicitation of teaching and support-staff on completing 25 years of dedicated service etc.

He is a poet. He is an approved music-composer of All India Radio – Prasar Bharati – jointly with his wife in the name “Swarada-Mahesh.”  Songs written by him and composed by “Swarada-Mahesh” are regularly played from different stations of All India Radio. In the C.D. of devotional songs, titled “Man Mandir” published by “Kalanand”, all the songs are written by him and composed by “Swarada-Mahesh” and the C.D. is approved by All India Radio - Prasar Bharati. He has written and composed a song on “Unmesh Festival” and “Raheja College.”

 C.A. Hrishikesh Wandrekar

M.Com, FCA – Accountancy Department
Assistant professor and practicing chartered accountant.

Hrishikesh Wandrekar is a practicing Chartered Accountant, having a teaching experience of 7 years. He has also conducted lectures for the office of Comptroller and Auditor General (C&AG) and for the Institute of Cost & Works Accountants of India (ICWAI). He is also an amateur bird-watcher and a avid trekker.

Activities of the Department

The Department conducts its activities through Accountancy Association.

Accountance Association

Accountancy Association was established in 2003 under leadership of Ex Head of Department in Accountancy C.A. Arun V. Wandrekar with purpose of creating interest of students in practical accounting and Income Tax , MVAT and Service tax laws.

Accountancy Association arranges lectures of eminent personalities in field of Income Tax, MVAT etc including Western India Regional Council of Chartered Accountant of India Chairman C.A. Mangesh Kinnare , C.A. Harish Motiwala , C.A. Nihar Jumbusaria and Commisioner of Sales tax Shri Bhagat.

Accountancy Association arranges visits to Income Tax Department, Sales Tax Department and private offices paperless office at CMC Bandra.

Accountancy Association regularly arranges competition for students like Best Presented Balance Sheet and on topics related accountancy and Income Tax, Finance Bill etc.
