Media education has responded to the changing needs of the society by upgrading its
content. The Bachelors of Mass Media (BMM) curriculum is designed to provide an
adequate theoretical and practical foundation for a career in Mass Media.
We at Raheja provide the students with a combination of strategic and tactical knowledge of
communication and also prepare them for leadership and managerial skills.
Eligibility :
A Candidate for being, eligible for admission to the Degree Course in Mass Media shall
have passed XII Std. Examination of the Maharashtra Board of Higher Secondary
Education or its equivalent and secured not less than 45% marks in aggregate at first
attempt. Every candidate admitted to the degree course in the constituent /affliated
college/recognised institution conducting the course, shall have to register
himself/herself with the University.
The maximum number of students at the F .Y . & S.Y . & T .Y .B.M.M. will be 60 at each Semester .
This is subject to change as per University guidelines.

The examination shall be conducted at the end of each Semester .

The paper shall carry 100 marks. The evaluation of the performance of the students in the papers shall be on
the basis of both Internal Assessment (50%) and Semester End Examination (50%) Internal Assessment shall be
on the basis of class assignments, projects, presentations, group discussions, seminar attendance, field visits,
etc.The responsibility of evaluation during the first four semester shall rest with the College/Institution on behalf of
the University. The College/Institution shall carry out the Internal Assessment for papers in Semester V and VI,
while the University shall conduct the Semester End Examinations for these two semesters. The Internal
Assessment marks of students appearing for Semester V and VI shall be sent to the University by the respective College/Institution at leat ten days before the commencement of the respective Semester End Examination.

The responsibility of evaluation during the first four semester shall rest with the College/Institution on behalf of
the University. The College/Institution shall carry out the Internal Assessment for papers in Semester V and VI,
while the University shall conduct the Semester End Examinations for these two semesters. The Internal
Assessment marks of students appearing for Semester V and VI shall be sent to the University by the respective
College/Institution at leat ten days before the commencement of the respective Semester End Examination.
To pass in the individual subjects of Semester I to Semester IV, a candidate must obtain a minimum of 50% of
the full marks (i.e 50 out of 100 marks). A minimum of 40% marks (i.e. 20 out of 50 marks) must be obtained
in the Semester End Examination and Internal Assessment seperately, and in each paper .
ii)
A candidate who fails to secure a minimum of 40% marks in the Internal Assessment in a particular subject
will be required to submit fresh Internal Assesment prior to his/her reappearance in that subject, at the
subsequent Semester End A.T.K.T. Examination.
iii)
(a)
A candidate who fails to secure a minimum of 40% marks in the Internal Assessment in a particular
subject will have to submit fresh Internal Assesment as per Clause (ii) herein above and also appear for
the Semester End Examination in that subject. This shall be irrespective of the marks secured
simultaneously by the candidate in that subject in the written theory paper in the same Semester
(b)
A candidate who does not submit the Internal Assessment in a particular subject/s and does not comply
with the rules related to Internal Assessment, shall not be permitted to appear for the Semester End
Examination in that particular subject/s. He/she shall have to submit fresh Internal Assessment as per
Clause [iii(a)] herein above.
iv)
A candidate who fails to secure the requisite 50% of the full marks in a particular subject/s but secures a
minimum of 40% marks in the Internal Assessment of that subject shall have to reappear in that subject/s at
the subsequent Semester End A.T.K.T. examination. However , his/her Internal Assessment marks shall be
carried over . But he/she will not be eligible for award of class.
v)
The A.T.K.T. examination will be held at the end of each Semester.
vi)
Candidates that are allowed to keep terms are exempted from re-appearing for the remaining subject of the
Semester/s provided they have secured a minimum of 50% of the full marks as per Clause (i) herein above,
those subjects.
vii)
Class will be awarded only at the end of each academic year on the basis of the total marks secured in the two
Semesters of that academic year i.e
(a)
Semester I and Semester II examination taken together (each examination taken at one sitting only).
(b)
Semester III and IV examinations taken together (each examination taken at one sitting only)
(c)
Semester V and VI examination taken together (each examination taken at one sitting only)

Marksheet will be given for Semester I, III and V but no class will be awarded. Classes are awarded
only at the end of each year for both Semesters together .
ix)
A candidate shall be awarded a class only when :-
(a)
He/she secures the required minimum marks [as per caluse (ii)] in all the 12 papers of both
Semesters of one academic year taken together i.e.
(i) Six papers of Semester I + six papers of Semester II
(ii) Six papers of Semester III + six papers of Semester IV
(iii) Six papers of Semester V + six papers of Semester VI
(b)
He/she failed in one or more subjects but chooses to reappear in all subjects of that particular
Semester , in the appropriate Semester End Examination.

Candidates who secure 50% or more of the total marks in

Semester I and II taken together
(b)
Semester III and IV taken together
(c)
Semester V and VI taken together will be placed in the second class. Subject to Clause (vii) herein above.

xiii)
A candidate shall be required to pass all six Semester examinations (as per above mentioned clauses)
to qualify for the award of degree of the Bachelor of Mass Media.
