The “Manas Psychology Association” was founded
in June 1991 by the Head of the Department
Mrs. Aruna Kurvey with few of the college
students. The goal of the association was to reach
out to students and meet their growth needs. The
inaugural function was held on 11th
September,
2007. Dr. Anju Kapoor, Vice-Principal, R. D.
National college addressed students on the topic
– “Parents and Us.” A visit to the spastic society
was organized for T.Y.B.A. students on 28th
September 2007. A workshop on preparing for
final exams was conducted for TYBA students by
Dr. N. Diwan, H.O.D., D.G. Ruparel College.
To have a better insight into schizophrenia – the
mental disorder, the movie ‘The Beautiful Mind’
was screened for T.Y.B.A. students which was
followed by a discussion. The regular students as
well as the ex-students enjoyed a picnic on
Sunday, 10th
February, 2008 at ‘Great Escape’.
The Manas Annual Day was celebrated on 16th
Feb, 2008. All the members had fun with the
activities like cake cutting, D.J., partying, dancing,
playing games etc. Certificates of appreciation were distributed by the Principal and Vice-
principal. The T.Y. students were given a fond
farewell.
The credit for the success of the association goes
to the faculty members and students who involved
themselves in making all these events possible.
