Junior College
New year - new hopes, aspirations and yet another chance to do what has yet - not been done
before.
Rooted with this firm belief, the Student's Council of Junior College 2007-08 embarked upon a
journey with its members to teach, learn and most of all, have fun.
A list of activities undertaken is given below:
Orientation and a warm welcome of new Rahejaites - the 2007-08 batch of FYJC
Inaugral Function of Students council (with special guests including Mrs. Rohini Suri and
famous comedian Mr. Deepak Raja)
White day, Blue and Green day, Red-Yellow-Pink day, Rainbow day, Tri-Colour and Khadi
day, Denim day, Friendship's day and many more such days to commemorate a young
student's free spirit.
"Meri Awaz Suno": A tribute to Mohd. Rafi was held and much enjoyed
A D.J. bash cum Rain dance: A definite crowd pulling experience
Patriotic Songs Competition in association with the Hindi Yuva Manch
Teacher's Day celebrations - an ode to the everlasting efforts of Raheja teachers with loads of
games and merriment
English Quiz Competition in order to test the IQ and EQ of Rahejaites
Talent contest to promote budding Raheja Stars
Annual Day Celebration combined the first time ever with the Student's Council of degree
college.

Prize Distribution Ceremony : Felicitation of Academic, Co-Curricular and Extra-Curricular
excellence. This included mementos for all student council members as acknowledgement of
their hard work and efforts.

With the nomination of Professor-in-charge by
the Principal of the college, other committee members were nominated as per the guidelines given
by the Student's Welfare Department circular issued by the University of Mumbai

Mr. Pratik Panchal of TYBCom was unanimously
elected as General Secretary of the council for
this academic year.
With the beautiful natural surroundings and to
appreciate the blue skies and greenery, the council
members celebrated "Blue & Green Day" on 21st
July 2007 with great cheer and joy. On 31st July
the death anniversary of the great singer the Late
Mohammed Rafi, a musical programme "Meri
Awaaz Suno" was organized. Twenty three students participated in this programme and showed
their singing talent. Ms. Nimra Khan of SYBCom
anchored the audience-packed programme
nicely. "Rain Dance" with D. J. Blast was organized on 4th August. There was a huge response
for the Dance Party. Friendship Day and Chocolate Day was celebrated with great fun and love.
On 15th August, Independence Day, student's
council and N.S.S. unit jointly organized a rally
from the college to Juhu Beach to make people
aware about "Global Warming." Students prepared a lot of placards and banners for this rally.
Headed by Principal Dr. M. B. Madlani and Vice-
principal Dr. Nandita Roy who walked down with
other teachers and students from the college to
the beach, this rally was a great success. At the
beach the students and teachers gave speeches,
sang songs and performed a street play.
Teachers Day was celebrated on 5th September.
On this day teachers were felicitated and entertained by the students with dance, singing and
speeches. Group discussion competition was or
ganized on 17th September to improve student's
confidence. Mr. Gagan Khandelwal's group won
the 1st prize. The best speaker prize was shared
by Mr. Gagan Khandelwal and Mr. Bhushan
Shelat.
Annual Day and Raheja Week were named as "UNMESH" which means enthusiasm. A new song
was written and composed by Prof. Mahesh Sathe
for "UNMESH" which was sung by him. This year
Annual Day consisted of western and traditional
dances, singing, fashion shows, dramas, mimicry, tabla playing and compereing which was of
a high standard.
"UNMESH" festival consisted of Tradional Day,
Personality contest, Mehendi and Rangoli competition, Dustbin decoration and Banner making
competition. Fun-n-fair and D.J. Dance Social
Party. "Fashion House," a business unit, sponsored
the T-shirts and prizes. Prof. Hrishikesh
Wandrekar, Prof. Shobha Mathew and active students council members all worked very hard to
make "UNMESH" a grand success! Mr. Grenville
D'Souza of T.Y.B.A. was selected as Mr. Raheja
and Ms. Deepika Shell of F.Y.B.A. was selected as
Ms. Raheja. Mr. Krishan Hoda of T.Y.B.Com and
Ms. Tasneem Pacha of T.Y.B.Com were the run
ners-up. Ms. Bhumika Bhatt, an active member
of the student's council bagged the "Best Student"
award of the college. Mr. Hashim Shaikh of
S.Y.B.A. was awarded as "Talent of the Year" and
Mr. Pratik Panchal of T.Y.BCom was awarded "Best
Event Organiser for UNMESH, 2007"
Our students participated in many festivals and
won many prizes in inter-collegiate competitions.

On 26th January, Republic Day, Prof. Mahesh
Sathe gave a speech and Mr. Saik Ali, Ms.
Meghana Bharat and Mr. Sarang Chauhan sang
patriotic songs.
