MARATHI VANGMAY MANDAL was established in L. S. Raheja College in 1986 with the initiative of Marathi speaking teaching staff and students. The member students consist of students from degree as well as junior college. Mandal also gets support from ex-students who contribute a lot to the organisation of activities of the Mandal. All activities conducted by the Mandal are related with Marathi literature. The competitions include Essay writing, Handwriting, poster making, poetry recitation cross word, quiz, Book review, rangoli, mendi etc. Marathi Rajbhasha Divas is celebrated every year on 27 th February in the memory of great Marathi poet Kavi Kusumagraj. At the end of academic year, Prize Distribution and Annual Day is celebrated to showcase the talents of the members like acting, dancing, singing. The chief guest is generally a renowned Marathi theatre actor who share their experience and guide the students. Also, a handwritten magazine ‘ANKUR’ is released which motivates students to write and edit stories, poems and articles.
OBJECTIVES OF MARATHI VANGMAY MANDAL:
The main objective of Marathi Vangmay Mandal is to provide a common platform to all teachers and students for conducting activities related to Marathi Literature and to have an open and voluntary membership for all who love Marathi literature.
